The always fun to watch John Cusack has taken to the ol’ Twitter account to sporadically update us on James McTeigue’s rendering of THE RAVEN, a period-set thriller about a harrowingly intimate crime-case Sir Edgar Allan Poe endured. Well today, on the man’s very birthday (Poe would have turned 202 years old today!), Cusack has dished out a new photo from the set of the Eastern European production. You’re leering at it above!

Although nothing explicit is shown in the photo – it’s just a chair and a pair of water bottles chilling in the woods – at least you can get a feel for the ominous environment the film will be set in, what with the dense fog, spooky trees and whatnot. Just like a Poe flick should be!

With Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Alice Eve (below), Luke Evans, Dave Legeno, Kevin McNally, Pam Ferris, Ian Virgo, Ana Sofrenovic and Sergej Trifunovic also featuring – THE RAVEN follows Edgar Allan Poe as he searches for a serial killer who has kidnapped his fiancée and has gone on a murder spree that mimics the author’s work.

THE RAVEN hasn’t a release date yet, but you’ll know when it does!
