Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley in talks to helm Dungeons & Dragons

It feels as though they've been talking about a DUNGEONS & DRAGONS movie for quite some time, and now Deadline has reported that Paramount Pictures and Hasbor's AllSpark Pictures have taken another step closer to getting the project off the ground.

Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley are now in negotiations to direct the DUNGEONS & DRAGONS film, stepping in for Chris McKay, who departed the project in order to focus on GHOST DRAFT starring Chris Pratt. If you'll recall, this isn't the first time that Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley have stepped in to take over a project from another director, as they took over THE FLASH for Warner Bros. from Seth Grahame-Smith (ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER) and Rick Famuyiwa (DOPE), who were both slated to helm the project at various points. Goldstein and Francis Daley recently departed THE FLASH as well over creative differences and Warner Bros. are now courting Andy Muschietti (IT: CHAPTER TWO) to take over. Here's hoping they have better luck with DUNGEONS & DRAGONS.

Based on the popular tabletop role-playing game, DUNGEONS & DRAGONS is expected to be one of the first projects from Hasbro's AllSpark Pictures, which includes a number of projects inspired by Hasbro's line of toys and games such as G.I. Joe, Micronauts, M.A.S.K., Power Rangers, Monopoly, and more.
