Just because San Diego Comic-Con is dominating entertainment news feeds on this forever-frenzied Thursday, that doesn't mean that a studio like Skydance can't drop some sweet casting news for Chris McKay's upcoming sci-fi feature, GHOST DRAFT.

A report hailing from Variety states that CHUCK and THE HANDMAID'S TALE actress Yvonne Strahovski is in negotiations to join Chris Pratt for GHOST DRAFT, a film written by Zach Dean that centers on a man drafted to fight in a future war where the fate of humanity relies on his ability to confront his past. According to the report, Strahovski will play a character Pratt meets in the future who has a connection to his past.

The time-bending tale is set to be produced by Adam Kolbrenner and David S. Goyer, with Dana Goldberg, Matt Grimm, and Don Granger overseeing for Skydance. With production set to kick off this summer, Skydance is preparing to finance the film with plans for Paramount to distribute.

Currently, Strahovski is making waves while playing Serena for Hulu's THE HANDMAID'S TALE. The role earned her an Emmy nomination in 2018 for her outstanding performance and secured her place on a list of stars to watch. Personally, I've known that Strahovski had the goods since her time starring opposite Zachary Levi for the hit TV series CHUCK. She played Sarah Walker for five seasons worth of NBC's comedic drama, before moving on to other notable parts in shows like DEXTER, 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY, and THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB, among others.

Chris McKay of course was the director of THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE, and recently was named as the director of DC's NIGHTWING film from writer Bill Dubuque. Details on the NIGHTWING project are practically non-existent at this time, so it's likely that we'll see GHOST DRAFT before Dick Grayson soars through the night like a trapeez artist with wings.
