CLASH OF THE TITANS made a ton of money at the box office, and we’ve known for some time that a CLASH 2 is on the way (relive the breaking story HERE).

Because of this the studio is currently scrambling to find a new director, with the hopes to beginning filming as early as January 2011. But who’s up for that gig? According to the sneaky bastards over at The L.A. Times, none other than horror’s own Jonathan Liebesman is one of the front names on the list.

Liebesman directed THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE REMAKE as well as DARKNESS FALLS (among others), and would be a pretty awesome choice to direct the next installment, which would actually be the first original film of the series. Way cool!

Though nothing is set in stone at this point, and there are lots of names and directors being seen, Liebesman is the front runner. The only problem? He has BATTLE: LOS ANGELES coming up on his plate, as well as an adaptation of ODYSSEUS. But hey, if they can land him for CLASH 2, then all the power to them!
