Jurassic Park 4 talk from director Colin Trevorrow

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

JURASSIC PARK 4 is now back on track with an eye toward coming out in 2015 (in 3D!) We’re still unsure about plot specifics (although we may have an idea), but there should be more and more info trickling in as the film nears production. Director Colin Trevorrow recently spoke to Schmoes Know (via ComingSoon.net) and gave them a peek inside the process of making JP4.

It’s incredible to have Steven [Spielberg], who’s done this for decades and has such an incredible filmic knowledge and just understands the language of the story in a way that for us is very refreshing. It’s not like getting notes from a studio executive, it’s really just trying to crack this and make it the best it can be.”

When asked if JURASSIC PARK 4 is a reboot, Trevorrow had this to say:

We don’t want to create a new scoop here, but we definitely want to honor what came before us.”

Read into that what you will, I suppose.

Trevorrow wrapped it up with this:

We are very aware of how much a certain generation especially cares about this movie and we talk about it all the time and really the conversation is: It’s not about us, it’s not about our careers, it’s – how do we make something that can stand with the first one.”

It will be a true miracle if they can make a film that stands alongside the original. I’m rooting for them, all the way.
