Just Friends stars Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart reunite for an Aviation Gin holiday promo

Ryan Reynolds knows the holidays can be stressful, and there’s nothing better after a long day of buying presents with money you don’t have than kicking back with a smooth glass of Aviation Gin. The only thing that could make the crystal clear alcohol better is a Just Friends reunion promo! That’s right, Santa’s Little Helpers, Just Friends stars Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart are getting cozy in front of a green screen to hock Aviation Gin before the holiday rush!

You can watch the Just Friends reunion below:

In the Just Friends reunion ad, Reynolds transports us to New Jersey circa 2023. While marveling at this year’s decoration spread, Reynolds surveys the cozy room with a satisfied grin and twinkling eyes. When Smart enters from off-screen with a bottle of Aviation Gin in her hands, Reynolds asks what’s wrong. Smart says her day’s been rough because the car she works at ran out of Aviation Gin. Horrified by this reality, Reynolds shouts in pain at the thought of patrons unable to enjoy their favorite alcoholic beverage. Smart, finding the green setup distracting, and Reynolds’ reaction over-dramatic cuts the scene short. After giving the line read another go, Smart stops the stage again, realizing she’s there primarily to promote Reynolds’ alcohol company. After voicing her disgust, Smart exits the scene, leaving Reynolds without his Just Friends co-star.

Even if you’re not into alcohol, the new Just Friends reunion ad is fun for fans of the 2055 Roger Kumble-directed comedy. Like the promo, Just Friends occurs during Christmas, when Chris Brander (Ryan Reynolds) returns to his hometown, coming face-to-face with his old high-school crush and best friend, Jamie (Amy Smart), a woman whose rejection of him turned him into a ferocious womanizer. Anna Faris, Chris Klein, Julie Hagerty, and Christopher Marquette also star.

There’s nothing quite like a Just Friends reunion to warm the cockles of your heart before the holidays start hunting you down like a rabid dog. Can you find your kid’s Turbo Man equivalent this year? Did you send gifts you bought online to the wrong address? Maybe you’ve already earned yourself a refreshing glass of Aviation Gin, eh? Go ahead and get yourself a bottle before they sell out. After all, you deserve it!
