Justice League begins shooting April 11th plus Batman V Superman runtime

It may have been a bit of wait for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE to hit screens, but it looks like Warner Bros. and DC are not wasting any time getting the rest of the DCU flicks in the can. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that shooting on THE JUSTICE LEAGUE PART ONE will commence on April 11th, which is just a couple of weeks after BATMAN V SUPERMAN hits theaters. While DAWN OF JUSTICE will focus more on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, THE JUSTICE LEAGUE will open it's scope a little to give the likes of the Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg their due screen time.

Zack Snyder on the JUSTICE LEAGUE film:

The idea that we could begin to boot up a Justice League concept was a cool thing. It was a little bit of an ‘about time’ moment, and I don’t blame [the studio] for feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming. But I do feel like it’s a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, ‘Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.’ But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist.

In the meantime, we'll have plenty of DCU goodness to gawk at come next month, as AMC Theaters has updated their page with the runtime of BATMAN V SUPERMAN, which comes to 2 hours and 31 minutes. DAWN OF JUSTICE may be packed to the gills as far as world building and content goes, but it looks like it will also have to the length to give the story some . . . justice? Yeah, I said it! Now let's see if Warner Bros. can pull it off!

BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE hits theaters on March 25, 2016 while THE JUSTICE LEAGUE PART ONE is scheduled to open on November 17, 2017.
