Justice League: Steppenwolf gets intense in new close-up photo

Justice League, Steppenwolf, Snyder Cut

Nothing says taking advantage of a slow news day by releasing new materials for Zack Snyder's Justice League. Earlier today, the fan-favorite director unleashed a new trailer for his upcoming four-part event on HBO Max, and now we've got an up-close and personal look at the director's version of the Justice League Steppenwolf. As you can see from the image above, Snyder's version of the classic DC villain is far more menacing than the one we saw in Joss Whedon's cut of Justice League. To borrow a joke from the creative genius that is comic book creator Gail Simone, Snyder's version might be slick, but it also looks as if Steppenwolf is a walking, talking Gillette Mach Seven ad, complete with cooling gel and a strip for sensitive skin.

As for the trailer, Snyder's new promotion for the upcoming film includes a number of tweaks made to the film's original footage, teasing just a taste of what's to come when the four-part presentation lands on HBO Max next year. Recently it was reported that Snyder invited key members of the cast to shoot 5-minutes of additional footage for the new cut, including scenes that add Jared Leto's Joker to the mix. All of this SnyderCut hullabaloo is costing HBO Max upward of $70 million. Here's hoping they land a significant amount of new subscriptions with staying power as a result.
