We've been seeing quite a lot of Katherine Waterston over the past several years, with the actress taking on major roles in FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM, ALIEN: COVENANT, LOGAN LUCKY, MID90S, and FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD, and it seems that we'll be ringing in the new year with her as well.
Written and directed by Meredith Danluck, STATE LIKE SLEEP finds Katherine Waterston starring as Katherine Grand, a young widow who receives an unsettling phone call one year after her husband's (Michiel Huisman) untimely death which forces her to revisit her past. As is typically the case in these types of mystery thrillers, all is not as it seems, and her quest to discover the truth brings her face to face with several potentially dubious characters played by Luke Evans and Michael Shannon. If you know me, you'll know that I'll see anything Michael Shannon appears in, and the trailer for STATE LIKE SLEEP looks quite promising. This also isn't the first film in which Waterson and Shannon have starred together, as they also have leading roles in Alfonso Gomez-Rejon's THE CURRENT WAR, which is still without a release date thanks to the Weinstein scandal.
STATE LIKE SLEEP will hit VOD on January 1, 2019, followed by a release in select theaters on January 4, 2019.
