Kathy Bates will not appear in AHS: Cult

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

One of the best things Ryan Murphy's AMERICAN HORROR STORY has going for it is the amazing gathering of actors the series manages to pull in season after season. One of the top names within that endless list of truly talents peeps is MISERY-star Kathy Bates.

Bates has – so far – had roles in COVEN, FREAKSHOW, HOTEL and most recently ROANOKE.

But it turns out the Bates will unfortunately NOT be appearing in the upcoming seventh season of the series due to scheduling issues with her new Netflix series DISJOINTED from Chuck Lorre.

This is a double shame as a few months back we reported on the awesome (rumor) that Bates would be appearing in AHS: CULT as Donald Trump.

Now, while we could all assume this was pure poppycock, this is AHS we're talking about, so I wasn't ready to run it out until further notice.

How do you feel about a Kathy Bates-less season of AHS? Make sure to hit us up on social media and let us know what your favorite Bates role was in the series on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

AHS: CULT is now in production and stars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Billie Lourd, Billy Eichner, Cheyenne Jackson, Alison Pill, Colton Haynes, Adina Porter, Frances Conroy, Mare Winningham, Leslie Grossman and Lena Dunham.

The new season will begin airing on FX this Fall.
