Keira Knightley and Ralph Fiennes have signed on to star in THE DUCHESS about Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire. The film is based on the historical biography by Amanda Foreman and follows the 18th century duchess and her loves (one of whom you’d believe would be Ralph Fiennes). Also cast in the film are Hayley Atwell and Dominic Cooper. As you might expect, Georgiana was quite the party girl who adored high fashion, extravagant parties, gambling and her own slang-y way of talking. It would be an interesting parallel to today’s party-going celebutantes if MARIE ANTOINETTE didn’t already go there. Saul Dibb will make his feature directorial debut with the project. Filming is scheduled to begin later this month in London. Knightley can be seen next in ATONEMENT (which she just premiered) and yet another period drama SILK. I don’t know about you guys but enough with the period stuff Keira! I want to see her looking sexy in modern times.
