Keri Russell is joining the vaunted ranks of such actresses as Kate Beckinsale, Winona Ryder, Drew Barrymore and Jessica Biel as “the love interest” in a Adam Sandler film. Russell has signed on to star opposite Sandler in the upcoming Disney kids film BEDTIME STORIES. The film is a JUMANJI-like tale of a guy whose bedtime stories to his niece and nephew begin to come to life. Russell’s character doesn’t get much description other than a “potential love interest.” Adam Shankman (HAIRSPRAY) is directing the film for Disney who have scheduled a December 2008 release. Sandler is currently filming YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN (first official pic from the film here at JoBlo) and would start work on BEDTIME in February. Russell has been out promoting both AUGUST RUSH, which is in theaters now, and the DVD release of WAITRESS. She can be seen in the upcoming indie flick THE GIRL IN THE PARK with Sigourney Weaver and Kate Bosworth.
