On April 5th, Askewniverse mastermind Kevin Smith released Chapter 12 of his Road to Reboot coverage, an ongoing video series chronicling the production of THE JAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOT. As your attorney I advise you to invest in some Kleenex for this one, as things are about to get real sentimental.

In the new video, Smith pays a heartfelt tribute to his friend and screen partner, Jason Mewes, who for the past 26 years has starred in the Askewniverse as Jay, a hapless, sewer-mouthed stoner with the best of intentions. Part of the way into the video, Smith begins tearing up as he recalls how it was Mewes' enthusiasm for the Jay and Silent Bob characters that inspired the making of Reboot, a project that the CHASING AMY filmmaker wasn't sure needed to exist. As Smith continues, he speaks about the Askewniverse journey, and how that voyage took he and his friends from the streets of Jersey to lively locale of New Orleans, where Reboot had recently wrapped production.

You can watch Smith's emotional message to his dear friend below:

In the upcoming film, the Quickstop slackers, Jay and Silent Bob, return to Hollywood to stop a reboot of a 'Bluntman and Chronic' movie from getting made.

Returning to the Askewniverse for more snoochies, boochies, and booooongs of course are Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes as Jay and Silent Bob, respectively. Joining them for the highly-anticipated comedy are stars Shannon Elizabeth (AMERICAN PIE), Joe Manganiello (TRUE BLOOD), Harley Quinn Smith (YOGA HOSERS), Grant Gustin (The CW's THE FLASH, GLEE), Justin Long (JEEPERS CREEPERS, TUSK), Jason Lee (MY NAME IS EARL, MALLRATS), Craig Robinson (BROOKLYN NINE-NINE), Molly Shannon (SUPERSTAR, NEVER BEEN KISSED) and Brian O'Halloran (CLERKS, MALLRATS), among others.
