Kevin Smith sees Trek

JoBloJoBlo

If you want a guy to keep a secret, perhaps Kevin Smith isn’t the best choice. Last week Smith spilled the beans that he saw WATCHMEN and though he wasn’t allowed to give a review, gave some thoughts on it anyway. Now we get word that Smith has apparently also seen STAR TREK. How about you get this guy to take over for Ebert and Roeper? While Smith did his best to not outwardly admit to seeing STAR TREK on the Kevin and Bean radio show in LA, he did everything but blurt out, Yes, I saw STAR TREK and it’s totally awesome I can’t take it yaaaay ZOMG!. Here’s how it went down (emphasis mine, obviously):

———-

Smith: I saw a movie last night that I cannot talk about.

Host: Was it good?

Smith: It was phenomenal.

Host: Any stars, any break out stars, and do they trek?

Smith: The stars absolutely trek in this film.

———-

Smith adds that the film is “fantastic” and that the director did a “phenomenal” job. He also believes the lead actor (Chris Pine without saying the name Chris Pine) will be “an instant star” and “so famous.” In case you’re doubting it’s STAR TREK and Chris Pine he says it’s a “role that has been played before many times by the same guy.” So we all know that Kevin saw STAR TREK so can we just dispense with the NDA and just let the dude review it?? Thanks to TrekMovie for transcription.
