YES! With Halloween less than 10 hours away, I’d say the folk over at Yahoo have given us all quite a treat, one in the form of a fresh look at John Hillcoat’s THE ROAD. That’s right, a new badass trailer for the flick has just been unsheathed.
This time out we get a much more harrowing look at the world, how it’s coldly dying, how a post-apocalyptic wasteland has broken down all moral codes and regulated law. Then throw in a band of indigent, knife-wielding criminals out to take anything they can, including your life if need be – and we have a sweet recipe for a solid flick.
We also get a look at the gorgeous Charlize Theron, who even in dirt encrusted rags, still manages to look cute. Not be outdone, the old salty vet Bob Duvall pops up, as does Guy Pearce as an apparent good guy sage offering words of wisdom to Viggo Mortensen’s son (played by Kodi-Smit McPhee).
Put it this way, if you were on the fence about seeing this movie, watch the new trailer and I’m sure it’ll hike your enthusiasm. Those intending all along to watch the movie just might get chills (admittedly as I did. What, you all know my stance on Theron!)
