The second season of the Netflix series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, which is a dark twist on the "Sabrina the teenage witch" character and stars Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina herself, is set to be released on April 5th. Less than a week later, Shipka will be seen in another Netflix genre project when the streaming service releases the killer bat movie THE SILENCE.

Also starring Stanley Tucci, Miranda Otto, John Corbett, Kate Trotter, and Kyle Breitkopf, THE SILENCE is based on a novel by Tim Lebbon and tells the following story:

When the world is under attack from terrifying creatures who hunt their human prey by sound, 16-year old Ally Andrews (Shipka), who lost her hearing at 13, and her family seek refuge in a remote haven. But they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally’s heightened senses.

The film was directed by John R. Leonetti from a screenplay by Carey Van Dyke and Shane Van Dyke. It was produced by Alexandra Michlan, Scott Lambert, and Robert Kulzer.

THE SILENCE will be available for viewing on Netflix as of April 10th. The film's trailer and poster can be seen below.

This cast taking on killer bats and a sinister cult sounds like a recipe for success to me. I'll definitely be checking out THE SILENCE in a couple weeks.
