Per his overall deal with HBO Max, Steven Soderbergh is directing the New Line Max Original feature KIMI with Zoë Kravitz set to star. Premiering exclusively on HBO Max, the script by David Koepp revolves around an agoraphobic tech worker who discovers recorded evidence of a violent crime during an ordinary data stream review and tries reporting it up the chain of command at her company. Meeting with resistance and bureaucracy, she realizes that to get involved, she will have to do the thing she fears the most — leave her apartment.

In addition to penning the script, Koepp will also produce alongside Michael Polaire. KIMI marks another union between Warner Bros. Pictures Group, HBO Max, and Soderbergh, after the HBO Max premiere of the director's Let Them All Talk, and the setting up of No Sudden Move, a star-studded thriller focusing on a group of criminals that are brought together under mysterious circumstances. Starring Brendan Fraser, Matt Damon, Benicio Del Toro, Jon Hamm, David Harbour, Kieran Culkin, Noah Jupe, Don Cheadle, Ray Liotta, Julia Fox, Frankie Shaw, Bill Duke, and Amy Seimetz, No Sudden Move is written by Ed Solomon (Bill and Ted Face the Music) and is now in post-production.

As for Kravitz, she's in the process of playing Selina Kyle / Catwoman for Matt Reeves's highly-anticipated The Batman. Starring Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot / The Penguin, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton / The Riddler, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, and Peter Sarsgaard as District Attorney Gil Colson, the plot is expected to focus on Batman's early career as the World's Greatest Detective and protector of Gotham City.

Boy, oh boy, I sure wish we got HBO Max here in Canada. What's the matter Warner Bros.? Are you jealous of our free health care and money that looks like Monopoly cash? Here's the deal. I would like every much to subscribe to your streaming service. How about we make that happen, eh? What's it going to take? Weekly deliveries of fresh maple syrup to your top brass? I can make that happen. You know what my email is. Let's make a deal.
