M. Night Shyamalan’s new movie gets the title Knock at the Cabin

Last Updated on October 15, 2021

Back in 2019, Universal announced that they would be releasing the next two thrillers from M. Night Shyamalan. The first was scheduled to reach theatres on February 26, 2021. That turned out to be Old (watch it HERE), which wasn’t released until July 23, 2021 due to the pandemic. The second thriller was scheduled for theatrical release on February 17, 2023, and that plan has changed as well – but for the better. It has been pushed up to two weeks to February 3, 2023, and the title has been revealed as well. Shyamalan’s next thriller is called Knock at the Cabin.

Shyamalan promoted the film and its new release date with this tweet:

Of course, no details about the plot of Knock at the Cabin have been shared. They like to keep things secret when it comes to Shyamalan projects. But the title is intriguing, and hints that we’re going to be seeing something that begins with a creepy knock at the door of an isolated cabin. I’m all for a “cabin in the woods” movie from Shyamalan.

A couple months ago, Shyamalan said he was on the third draft of the script and it was “super tight”, under 100 pages.

According to Deadline, Knock at the Cabin moved its release date because sticking with February 17th would have put it up against the Disney / Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. You don’t want to be in the path of a tiny Paul Rudd.

There are M. Night Shyamalan movies I like and some I really don’t, but I always give everything he makes a chance. I will be watching Knock at the Cabin in 2023. Are you a fan of Shyamalan? Let us know what you think of his movies by leaving a comment below.
