Knock Knock’s Ana de Armas joins the cast of Blade Runner 2

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

After a decade of working in the Spanish film industry, actress Ana de Armas caught wider international attention through her wonderfully oddball performance in Eli Roth's KNOCK KNOCK. With her latest casting, de Armas continues to make her way into the English-language big leagues.

de Armas has signed on to co-star with Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, and Dave Bautista in the Denis Villeneuve-helmed sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 classic BLADE RUNNER.

The plot to the long-awaited follow-up is being kept under wraps, so it's no surprise that details weren't revealed about de Armas's character, either. All we know is that she will have an important leading role.

The production company behind this untitled BLADE RUNNER sequel is Alcon Entertainment, and the co-founders/co-CEOs of the company had high praise for de Armas, calling her "one of the most exciting, up-and-coming international actors in the world today."

Ridley Scott is executive producing the sequel, which has a screenplay by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green. "BLADE RUNNER 2", as we're calling it for now, is set for release on October 6, 2017.

In the meantime, de Armas will be seen in two August 2016 releases, the boxing film HANDS OF STONE and the crime comedy WAR DOGS.
