L.A. Box Office is back: 1,100% increase in returns for Friday

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

raya and the last dragon box office el capitanWe're getting there, movie lovers! It was reported yesterday that the daily box office take for Los Angeles movie theaters was $427,200. Sure, that may not seem like a crazy number, however it was a jump in sales from last Friday of 1,100%! Hopefully, this means that more people are becoming comfortable returning to the movie theater experience as the Covid vaccines continue to roll out!

As a positive addition to the box office boost, the star and director of the current box office champ, Raya and the Last Dragon, showed up at the El Capitan theater on Hollywood Blvd yesterday to greet movie theater patrons! Kelly Marie Tran, who voices Raya, and director, Carlos Lopez Estrada, thanked everyone for supporting their film, which has already grossed a total of $24.8 million and counting.

What are your thoughts on the movie business getting back to normal? Do you miss sitting in those reclining stadium seats? Have you got accustomed to watching your movies at home? Please, let us know in the comments below!
