Lake Bell stars in the hilarious trailer for In a World from writer/director Lake Bell

JoBloJoBlo

Lake Bell pisses me off. Nobody has the right to be that good looking and that talented both in front of and behind the camera. Damn it, between her and Ben Affleck us average looking people are getting screwed.

In all seriousness, I am very surprised at how good IN A WORLD looks. The comedy looks like it hits all the right notes in mocking Hollywood without feeling like a satire. The cast looks spot on and Bell looks fantastic. Bell looks like she gained some great friends filming the great show CHILDRENS’ HOSPITAL as buddies Ken Marino and Rob Corddry show up here in supporting roles.

An underachieving vocal coach is motivated by her father, the king of movie-trailer voice-overs, to pursue her aspirations of becoming a voiceover star. Amidst pride, sexism and family dysfunction, she sets out to change the voice of a generation

IN A WORLD was a modest success at the Sundance Film Festival and gained a theatrical release out of it. My favorite moment has got to be her Russian accented STAR WARS quote. A funny joke for the nerds out there delivered by an attractive woman. Damn you again, Lake Bell!

IN A WORLD starring Lake Bell, Ken Marino, Fred Melamed, Rob Corddry, Demetri Martin, Nick Offerman, Eva Longoria, Geena Davis, and more opens in limited release on August 9th.
