Lauren Ambrose and Nell Tiger Free to star in Shyamalan thriller series

Game of Thrones Nell Tiger Free

It was announced earlier this year that M. Night Shyamalan and writer Tony Basgallop are teaming up to craft a psychological thriller series for Apple's streaming service. With production drawing near, two of the show's three leads have now been cast.

An official synopsis for the show has not been released, but word is that Basgallop's story centers on

parents Dorothy and Sean Turner, who have hired young nanny Leanne to help care for their newborn child.

Sean Turner has yet to be cast, but Lauren Ambrose of Six Feet Under and The X-Files will be taking on the role of Dorothy. The nanny, Leanne Grayson, is set to be played by Game of Thrones actress Nell Tiger Free (pictured above).

In addition to the shows named above, I'm familiar with Ambrose from the movies IN & OUT, CAN'T HARDLY WAIT, and PSYCHO BEACH PARTY, among others. She seems like a great choice for this project to me. I haven't watched Game of Thrones, so I didn't catch Nell Tiger Free's performance as Myrcella Baratheon… all I can say about her at this point is that I like her name.

M. Night Shyamalan will be directing the first episode of this series, which doesn't have a title yet. He'll also be executive producing the show with Basgallop, Ashwin Rajan, Jason Blumenthal, Todd Black, and Steve Tisch, while Taylor Latham serves as co-executive producer.
