Francis Lawrence (I AM LEGEND) will direct an as yet untitled movie about the Atlanta Federal Penitentiary riot of 1987. The riot, if you don’t know, saw Cuban and American prisoners take over 100 federal prison staff members hostage and the FBI required the aid of a Special Forces detachment to help resolve the situation.
People seem to be hating on Francis Lawrence, but whatever, I loved CONSTANTINE and for about an hour I AM LEGEND blew me away. Of course, the last fifteen minutes were horrible in the way that child pornography is horrible, but I don’t like to let when things go sour at the end ruin my perspective on shit. It’s like when I forget to pull out. Sure, that sucked, but I like to think we had a good time for the three, maybe four minutes before that.
