Lawrence Without Us

JoBloJoBlo

Francis Lawrence (I AM LEGEND) will make a feature adaptation of the book The World Without Us. In a hypothetical situation where the entire human race disappeared, the book explored how buildings would deteriorate, how long and which man-made objects would linger and last, the environmental impact nuclear waste and other pollutants would have left unchecked and how nature would consume the man-made environment.

However, the film won’t be a documentary, but rather writer Mark Protosevich will attempt to show an event that would lead to our disappearance. I’ll be honest, that quote came from the article and I’m not sure what the implications are. Isn’t this book about what happens after we’re gone? But we’re gonna… oh whatever…

Anyway, with I AM LEGEND, Lawrence showed he is good at this stuff so long as he doesn’t have to do vampire monster things. Also, endings.
