Leaked Batgirl footage shows Leslie Grace and Brendan Fraser’s Firefly locked in a heated battle

Behind-the-scenes footage from the now-canceled Batgirl movie is making the rounds. Posted to the DCEUleaks subreddit, the leaked Batgirl footage shows Leslie Grace’s Batgirl battling Brendan Fraser’s Firefly, Michael Keaton’s Batman, and more.

Development for Batgirl began in 2017 with Ms. Marvel‘s executive producer and directing duo of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah behind the camera. The anticipated film was supposed to be released on HBO Max before David Zaslav, on behalf of Warner Bros. Discovery, canceled the “iredeemable” film. While Zaslav remains uninterested in releasing Batgirl on any platform, the recently leaked footage teases plenty of action and fireworks around Gotham City.

You can check out the leaked Batgirl footage below:

In the leaked Batgirl footage, we see Fraser’s Firefly setting fire to multiple storefronts, riding a firetruck through the streets of Gotham City, and making life a living hell for Grace’s Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl. Additionally, the video also shows Grace riding a motorcycle, tumbling over a parked GCPD cruiser, and battling Firefly atop a movie firetruck. If you watch the footage closely, you’ll also see Michael Keaton’s Batman and J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon.

The decision to cancel Batgirl has come at a high cost to DC as fans and filmmakers have erupted over the shelved film. Sure, a loud minority of people have no problem losing the movie, but many see its cancelation as a step in the wrong direction for DC. According to Zaslav, Warner Bros. Discovery is formulating a 10-year plan to salvage the DCEU and build something better. They’ve said this before—multiple times. However, the studio plans to use Marvel’s proven method of cinematic universe building this next time around. At least they’re upfront about it.

What do you think of the leaked Batgirl footage? Do you hope Batgirl gets released in some capacity down the road? Will Warner Bros. Discovery finally figure out how to build and present a proper DCEU? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
