Learn about one of Maleficent’s new powers in these behind the scenes photos

In Disney’s upcoming MALEFICENT, starring Angelina Jolie in the title role, the self-proclaimed Mistress of All Evil looks to be utilizing a new power.

As you can see in the set photos below, Angelina Jolie is attached to a rig being handled by a couple of lucky dudes in head to toe body stockings. The obvious assumption is that Maleficent will have the ability to fly. Now, I haven’t watched SLEEPING BEAUTY since my niece was little, but I recall Maleficent being able to teleport and transform into a dragon, but she never flew.

You can clearly see in the first photo that the previous assumptions are correct: Maleficent’s horns in the film look to be sprouting from her head, not a headress as in the animated film. This may tie directly into her dragon-like nature. I hope her back story does not say she is the unholy spawn of man mating with dragon. That would be a little ridiculous. But, then again, she is a flying woman with horns, so all bets are off.

Do these set pics do anything for your interest in seeing MALEFICENT?

MALEFICENT will open on March 14, 2014.
