Lego: the Movie

Just the other day we gave you a brief update on various toys following G.I. JOE and TRANSFORMERS to theaters and hoping for similar success. You might have been thinking “What could possibly be left?”

If so, you didn’t think quite hard enough, because a Lego movie is now in the works at Warner Bros.

Yes, the miniature interlocking bricks are apparently also prime building blocks for a movie franchise, or so goes the thinking in certain Hollywood noggins. Dan Lin (SHERLOCK HOLMES) and Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Doug Davison are producing.

The colorful construction objects have already proven to be a popular artistic sculpture medium and videogame incarnation of other franchises (BATMAN, INDIANA JONES, STAR WARS). It’s also a great backdrop for a Jackie Chan fight.
