Let Me Make You a Martyr starring Marilyn Manson unleashes new trailer

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Now, I've been a huge fan of Marilyn Manson since elementary school, and remain a fan to this day. Hell, seeing him headline Ozzfest is still one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. So it's exciting to hear he's not only starring in the neo-noir LET ME MAKE YOU A MARTYR, but that the film – and his performance – have been critically-acclaimed. This, of course, isn't Manson's first time acting, as he's had memorable roles in PARTY MONSTER, SONS OF ANARCHY, and EASTBOUND AND DOWN, but this is the first time I can recall that he's been in anything like a lead role.

Anyway, here's the official synopsis:

Let Me Make a Martyr follows adoptive siblings Drew (Niko Nicotera) and June (Sam Quartin) as they set out to take down a viscous crime ring headed by their adoptive father, Larry (Mark Boone Junior). Set in Tulsa, the two pick up and care for a young girl named Rooney along the way, and in the story that unfolds, the group finds themselves at the prey of a brutal hunt by Pope (Marilyn Manson), a hitman hired by Larry. In the end, the story begins to dive into the surreal.

And here's the trailer:

That was actually pretty effective, even if it didn't show too much. Definitely some proto-Lynchian vibes to it for sure. And Manson really comes off really scary and creepy in it, but not in an edgy Goth way, but something much more subtle and sinister. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

But what about you Schmoes? Any other Manson fans out there? And if so, what do you think of the film? Sound off below!

Either way,the film will be released wide on VOD June 6th, but will have special theatrical screenings before then:

May 25th – Tulsa, Ok @ Circle Cinema 7pm (two week run)

May 27th – Austin, Texas @ Alamo Drafthouse (two week run)

June 5th – Los Angeles, CA @ Sunset 5 Cinema’s (one night only)

June 9th – Brooklyn, New York @ Anthology Film Archives
