Wowzers! Not only is Prime Video‘s Life Is Strange TV series actually happening, but we’ve got our actresses for the roles of Max and Chloe! According to Variety‘s exclusive report, Maisy Stella (My Old Ass, Nashville, Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties) and Tatum Grace Hopkins (Meek) will play Chloe and Max, respectively.
What’s Life Is Strange About?
I could wax rhapsodic about the story for Life Is Strange, though it’s better if we let this project’s official logline do the work. The TV series adaptation of Life Is Strange follows Max (Hopkins), “a photography student, who discovers she can rewind time while saving the life of her childhood best friend, Chloe (Stella). As she struggles to understand this new skill, the pair investigates the mysterious disappearance of a fellow student, uncovering a dark side to their town that will ultimately force them to make an impossible life-or-death choice that will impact them forever.”
Charlie Covell will write, executive produce, and showrun the series, with Dmitri M. Johnson, Michael Lawrence Goldberg, and Timothy I. Stevenson executive producing via their Story Kitchen studio. Square Enix, Story Kitchen, LuckyChap, and Amazon MGM Studios produce the Life Is Strange TV series.

Who Are Hopkins and Stella?
Hopkins is making her television debut with Life Is Strange. She’s mostly a star of the stage, starring in Broadway productions of “The Queen of Versailles” and “For the Girls.” However, she also starred in the short film Meek, which premiered at the 2024 Montclair Film Festival.
Meanwhile, Stella is a gifted musician, but she played Daphne Conrad for six seasons of the ABC music drama Nashville, and starred opposite Aubrey Plaza in Megan Park’s coming-of-age comedy My Old Ass.
Words cannot describe how much I love the Life Is Strange video game series. While the games vary in quality, the original game was something of a revelation for choose-your-own-adventure-style gameplay. Some players roll their eyes at the game’s cheesy one-liners and teen angst, but I revel in it. I’ll be watching this series closely. Let’s freakin’ go!
