Loki TV Interviews: Wunmi Mosaku and director Kate Herron

Last Updated on August 13, 2021

Marvel Studios is two for two so far with both WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier exceeding expectations. Next up is Loki starring Tom Hiddleston in his fan-favorite role. While this variant of Loki has not experienced the events of Thor: Ragnarok or Avengers: Infinity War, he is every bit as mischievously lovable as the version we have come to love. I got the opportunity not only to screen the first two episodes of Loki but to speak with Kate Herron, director of the series, and co-star Wunmi Mosaku.

Kate Herron is best known for her comedy work on series like Netflix’s Sex Education starring Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson but she has also done dramatic and action work on the series Daybreak. I spoke with Herron about her inspiration for Loki which includes everything from A Clockwork Orange and The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy and much more. She also explained the scope of this series as well as how it fits into Marvel Studios’ Phase Four. Check out the video below.

I also spoke with Wunmi Mosaku, a veteran of HBO’s Lovecraft Country as well as roles in films like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. We talked about her experience in genre storytelling, working with a lot of green screen, and what it was like being a badass opposite Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

Loki premieres June 9th on Disney+.
