Wowee. Here’s our first look at The Volturi, the villainous vampire clan in NEW MOON. Is that really Dakota Fanning? I guess it is.
You also see Michael Sheen as Aro, Christopher Heyerdahl as Marcus, Jamie Campbell Bower as Caius, and Cameron Bright as Alec. Fanning isn’t the only one who is all grown up; Cameron Bright was the creepy kid from GODSEND, BIRTH, RUNNING SCARED, and X-MEN: THE LAST STAND.
So who are The Volturi? In short, they’re not lame like Edward Cullen’s brood. From the Twilight Wiki (ugh): They are considered the de facto royal family of vampires, as they are the largest and most influential coven in existence . The Volturi deal swiftly and decisively with anything they consider a threat to their city, or the vampire world. They destroy anyone who attempts to overthrow them, or resist their authority.
They also hunt werewolves, and eat humans. They sounds pretty badass, so what the hell are they doing in TWILIGHT? (For that matter, what the hell is Michael Sheen doing in it? He’s a f*ckin’ Lycan!)
