More official casting news from the STAR WARS: EPISODE VII camp! Lupita Nyong'o has been a rumored name for a while, and now it is comfirmed, alongside Gwendolyn Christie! Lupita of course rocked her acting socks off in 12 YEARS A SLAVE, and Gwendoline aka Brienne has been taking names on HBO’s Game of Thrones for a few seasons now.

Check out the twitter reveal:

As with the previous casting news, Abrams and crew prove they aren't messing around. J.J. Abrams previously teased that there was a prominent female role to be cast, and it appears we know have two great female actresses joining what's already an impressive ensemble. There's some great talent on board with this picture, and I think die-hard fans will have a lot to be excited about come next Christmas.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII starring Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Andy Serkis, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Daisy Driver, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, Anthony Daniels, and now Lupita Nyong'o and Gwendoline Christie, will blast into theaters on December 18th, 2015.
