Droopy faced former Batman love nugget Maggie Gyllenhaal has joined the cast of the sequel NANNY MCPHEE AND THE BIG BANG in which Emma Thompson once again reprises her role as the titular magical Nanny who takes a bunch of rude kids and turns them into exemplary angels through a process of reverse uglyfying. She joins Rhys Ifans, Maggie Smith and Asa Butterfield in a story once again adapted by Thompson from Christianna Brand’s popular “Nurse Matilda” series and directed by Brit Susanna White, who’ll be making her feature directorial debut. This time around, the rude kids will be a group of brats who are taken from the city to a farm during wartime. No word on Gyllenhaal’s character as yet. Gyllenhaal will next be seen in the Sam Mendes directed dramedy AWAY WE GO.
