Twenty-six years after menacing Captains Kirk and Picard in STAR TREK: GENERATIONS, Malcolm McDowell is teaming up with that film's director David Carson on the indie film THE BENEFACTOR – which will be Carson's first directorial credit in twelve years.

Scripted by Mark and Anna Casadei, who are also producing the film with manager Paul C.Escoll, THE BENEFACTOR will see McDowell taking on the role of

a once-prolific painter who takes up an artist residency after the death of his wife. However, he soon fears that the house may be haunted and that its ghosts are driving him to madness.

It will be interesting to see how this turns out, because dropping a troubled McDowell into a haunted house sounds like a recipe for a good horror movie.

In the meantime, McDowell will be seen in the Simon Pegg/Nick Frost paranormal investigation horror-comedy series Truth Seekers on Amazon.
