Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg to team up once again for action film Mile 22

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

So straight from CinemaCon is news that Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg are teaming up to make an action-thriller called MILE 22, meant to kick off a trilogy of films. Here's the official synopsis:

CIA agent (Wahlberg), stationed in Indonesia, is tasked with transporting a compromised informant from the center of the city to an awaiting getaway plane at an airport 22 miles away. While en route, they must battle corrupt police, criminal overlords and heavily armed locals, all hell-bent on taking them out before they reach their plane.

The film also co-stars UFC fighter Ronda Rousey.

I mean, it could be fun, I don't know. I think Peter Berg can sometimes go crazy on the shaky-cam shit, and the plot isn't anything to write home about, but it's all about execution. I'll make my judgement when I can see some footage.

Meanwhile, no official release date as of yet, but expect that to change soon. We'll keep you posted.
