In this Marvel live action series, a street-fighting ex-con battles crime on the streets of New York as the super hero, Luke Cage. Marvel has found some serious success with their Netflix series in seasons 1 and 2 of Daredevil and Jessica Jones, and if this latest trailer is any indication, it will repeat the goods with Luke Cage.
Admittedly, super hero TV shows are a tough sell for me. I found things to like about everything Marvel has done with Netflix so far, although I'd hesitate to call any of the shows "great" as a whole. Luke Cage seems to carry with it the same visual aesthetic as the others, which is to say I'm not a huge fan of, but I'm hoping this show can have some fun where the others didn't. Judging from the character thus far, I don' think that's the case, but the scene at the end of this trailer gives me hope.
The entire first season of Luke Cage hits Netflix on September 30th.
