Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman origin film to suit up for a February 2020 release

20th Century Fox and Walt Disney Studios is planning to transport fans of Matthew VaughnMark Millar and Dave Gibbons' Kingsman franchise back to where it all began with THE KING'S MAN, an origin film set in the suave and spy-tacular Kingsman universe.

Here's the logline for THE KING'S MAN as per today's exciting press release:

As a collection of history's worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in THE KING'S MAN.

THE KING'S MAN (formerly Kingsman: The Great Game) stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (KICK-ASS, GODZILLA), Matthew Goode (WATCHMEN), Ralph Fiennes (THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL), Charles Dance (LAST ACTION HERO), Djimon Hounsou (CAPTAIN MARVEL), Gemma Arterton (THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS), Stanley Tucci (BIG NIGHT, SPOTLIGHT), Daniel Brühl (INGLORIOUS BASTERDS), Tom Hollander (BIRD BOX), and Rhys Ifans (LITTLE NICKY).

Meanwhile, Vaughn is also plotting a threequel to 2017's KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE, which will continue the story of Eggsy (Taron Egerton) and Harry Hart (Colin Firth), as they pick up the pieces left behind after their confrontation with drug trafficker and robot dog trainer Poppy (Julianne Moore). Several of the characters introduced in KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE are expected to return for the sequel, such as Jeff Bridges' Champ, Halle Berry's agent Whiskey, and Channing Tatum's agent Tequila. While no casting confirmations have been announced at this time, Vaughn has previously stated that the aforementioned characters are a part of his plan for what's expected to be Eggsy and Harry's final chapter.

THE KING'S MAN will put a hit out on theaters beginning on February 14, 2020.
