Deadline is reporting that Josh Zetumer has been hired to pen the script to the redo of Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 sci-fi classic. A pretty bold move given the man’s inexperience. In his defense, he did pen the blacklisted INFILTRATOR, a spy thriller that Warner Bros. may set up with Leo DiCaprio. Zetumer also wrote drafts of the equally delayed DUNE rehash, as well as the fourth BOURNE IDENTITY flick, though the latter was eschewed for a spinoff with original scribe Tony Gilroy.
