A moment from Blumhouse Productions' upcoming HALLOWEEN sequel that's getting a lot of attention in the marketing is one where iconic slasher Michael Myers is busting through the glass in a door to grab heroine Laurie Strode – and it makes sense that they're showing off that moment, because it's not only a cool image, but also a clash of the titans. One of horror's greatest villains once again going after one of the genre's greatest final girls.

The door scene has been the focus of an officially released still and has shown up in trailers and TV spots. Now a clip from the film has been released online to show us what's going on in the seconds before that door-smashing moment.

Directed by David Gordon Green from a screenplay he wrote with Danny McBride and Jeff Fradley, the new HALLOWEEN only acknowledges the events of John Carpenter's original 1978 HALLOWEEN and brings Jamie Lee Curtis back in the role of

Laurie Strode, who comes to her final confrontation with Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.

Curtis is joined in the cast by Judy Greer as Laurie's daughter Karen; Andi Matichak as Laurie's granddaughter Allyson; Miles Robbins, Virginia Gardner, Dylan Arnold, and Drew Scheid as Allyson's Haddonfield High classmates; Will Patton and Rob Niter as police officers; Rhian Rees as a character named Dana; Toby Huss as Ray; and Diva Tyler as a caretaker. Original Michael Myers performer Nick Castle and stuntman James Jude Courtney both wore the mask of the boogeyman this time around.

The new HALLOWEEN was executive produced by Carpenter, who also composed the score with his son Cody Carpenter and godson Daniel Davies.

HALLOWEEN will reach theatres on October 19th.

You can read our own Chris Bumbray's 8/10 review of the film at THIS LINK, and you can get a quick preview of the rematch between Myers and Strode in the clip below.
