Only hours after hearing Fox has moved Ridley Scott’s newly unveiled PROMETHEUS from March to June of 2012, we now have word of who’ll star opposite female badass Noomi Rapace. His name? One Michael Fassbender!

According to Variety, Fassbender (seen above) is only in talks at this stage of the game, but really…you think the dude will actually turn down the chance to work with one of the most accomplished film directors of the last 30 years? Would seem unwise!

No details have been given as to Fassbender’s potential character, but suffice it to say he’ll be one of the primary male leads. If you don’t know who the dude is by now, he’s been cutting his teeth the last five years or so in cool flicks like 300, HUNGER, EDEN LAKE, INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS, and of course, JONAH HEX. Okay, we won’t hold that last one against him…

Fassbender also has JANE EYRE and HAYWIRE wrapped, another two flicks in post (including X-MEN: FIRST CLASS), and another three in pre-production (including SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN).

Hopefully he adds PROMETHEUS to his resume soon. Know what I’m sayin’?

PROMETHEUS opens June 8th, 2012.

Noomi dolls up well!
