Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard have a lust for power in this first trailer for MACBETH. The latest adaptation of the William Shakespeare tragedy comes from SNOWTOWN and THE TURNING director Justin Kurzel (who is set to re-team with Fassbender and Cotillard for the planned ASSASSIN'S CREED movie), and it received an excellent response when it premiered at this year's Cannes Film Festival. The upcoming film also stars Sean Harris (PROMETHEUS), Elizabeth Debicki (THE GREAT GATSBY), Paddy Considine (THE WORLD'S END) and Jack Reynor (TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION).

"I am in blood, stepped in so far…"

This is a pretty impressive teaser trailer in my opinion, and really love how the film looks. MACBETH could potentially be a major player come awards season (most of the early reviews have been very positive), and I, for one, can't wait to check out Justin Kurzel's big screen take on the play.

MACBETH doesn't have a U.S. release date yet, but it will hit U.K. theaters on October 2, 2015.
