Tim Burton’s DARK SHADOWS feature is shaping up nicely. With Johnny Depp in the lead and a couple of high-profile names like Jackie Earle Haley and Eva Green in the mix, there’s a lot to like about this flick before it even get underway. Now a few more notables look to join the cast, making it even more enticing.

According to Deadline.com, Michelle Pfeiffer is in talks to play “Elizabeth Collins Stoddard”, the reclusive matriarch of the Collins clan. She is the owner of Collinwood, the mansion where the supernatural saga unfolds.

Meanwhile, Helena Bonham Carter is up for the role of “Dr. Julia Hoffman”. (I’d be pretty surprised if she doesn’t get it.) Her character is a specialist in psychology and rare blood disorders who moves into Collinwood. While she initially is a threat to the vampire Barnabas, she eventually becomes his ally, who might be able to cure him of his thirst for blood.

Of course, Pfeiffer and Burton teamed up almost twenty years ago for BATMAN RETURNS, while Carter is in every damn thing he makes. With these two plus Green and relative newcomer Bella Heathcoate on board, DARK SHADOWS is going to be a rather sexy affair…
