Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things set to star in Godzilla sequel

Millie Bobby Brown, star of Netflix's Stranger Things, has lined up her first big-screen role, and it's certainly a major one. THR reports that Brown has signed on to star in GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, the upcoming sequel to Gareth Edwards' GODZILLA.

Of course, details about the plot as well as Millie Bobby Brown's character are being kept under wraps, but it should be interesting to see what she can do without her telekinetic powers. Although, they would certainly come in handy when dealing with a group of giant monsters. After being rumoured to be in the running for several months, it was recently confirmed that Michael Dougherty (TRICK 'R TREAT) would be directing GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS as well as co-writing the script with Zach Shields. Dougherty was initially hired to oversee the writer's room of the MonsterVerse (that's what they're officially calling it), which includes the upcoming KONG: SKULL ISLAND on March 10, 2017 as well as GODZILLA VS. KING KONG on May 29, 2020.

GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS is set for a March 22, 2019 release.
