People enjoy dark crime dramas as much as they do riotous comedies, it seems, and the Netflix drama MINDHUNTERS was one of the big hits of the year. The show received rave reviews and was the talk of social media, and of course, that means Netflix is down for more. The service has officially renewed the show for a second season, which means we can expect to see more f**ked-up interviews with more f**ked-up individuals.
The show’s Twitter page posted a short tease for the second season to accompany the announcement of the renewal, fit with the tagline “We need to talk to more subjects.” This means agents Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff), Bill Trench (Holt McCallany) and professor Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) will be back to interview more killers, with names like David Berkowitz (Son of Sam) and Charles Manson floated around this first season.

The show followed the trio as they interviewed various killers with the goal of learning from them so as to prevent future crimes from happening. The season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, which left Holt and Bill dealing with their own psychological side effects of stepping into the minds of various killers. How they deal with this while continuing to find more answers will certainly be a subject of season two. Based on the true crime book from John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker, the show was created by Joe Penhall and was executive produced by Joshua Donen, Charlize Theron, Cean Chaffin and David Fincher, who also directed four episodes.
