Misanthrope: Jovan Adepo of The Stand, Watchmen joins serial killer thriller

An Emmy nominee for his role as Hooded Justice on the Watchmen television series, Jovan Adepo can currently be seen as Larry Underwood in the CBS All Access mini-series based on Stephen King's The Stand. His next project is the serial killer killer thriller Misanthrope, which he has just signed on to star in alongside Shailene Woodley and Ben Mendelsohn.

Set to be directed by Damian Szifron from a script he wrote with Jonathan Wakeham, Misanthrope finds Woodley taking on the role of 

a talented but troubled cop who is recruited by the FBI to help profile and track down a murderer.

Adepo will be playing MacKenzie, "a young FBI agent, who is deeply involved in hunting down the murderer".

Szifron and Woodley are producing the film with Stuart Manashil and FilmNation Entertainment's Aaron Ryder. Filming begins in Montreal this month.

Adepo's previous credits also include The Leftovers, mother!, Overlord, When They See UsJack Ryan, Sorry for Your Loss, and Fences.
