The Mission: Impossible franchise just keeps getting better and better, and from the look of things, Mission: Impossible 7 is going to continue that trend. Thanks to delays caused by the pandemic, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) won’t be returning to our screens until next year, but writer/director Christopher McQuarrie has been giving fans glimpses behind the scenes all this time. Christopher McQuarrie has previously described Hayley Atwell’s character as a “destructive force of nature,” while Atwell has teased that her loyalties are “somewhat ambiguous.” McQuarrie recently shared some incredible footage of Tom Cruise’s latest death-defying stunt at CinemaCon, revealing the actor trained for over a year in order to be able to pull off.
The sequel features the return of Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Vanessa Kirby as the White Widow, Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge, as well as franchise newbies Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, and more. Mission: Impossible 7 is currently slated to hit theaters on May 27, 2022, and will be followed by Mission: Impossible 8 on July 7, 2023.
