I hope Ethan Hunt knows a good biscuit recipe because Hannah Waddingham is joining the cast of Mission: Impossible 7. The Ted Lasso star is mixing it up for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two, director Christopher McQuarrie revealed on Friday via Instagram. The image posted to McQuarrie’s account depicts Waddingham wearing a “boring man beige” colored cap and standing aboard what looks like an aircraft carrier or fortified military base. With a serious look, Waddingham is all business while remaining snug in her matching jacket with a fuzzy brown collar. The caption for the post includes the hashtags #Godspeed and #DeadReckoning.

Waddingham, who plays Rebecca Walton on the Apple TV+ feelgood series Ted Lasso is a brilliant addition to the Mission: Impossible 7 cast. As a gifted actor, singer, and slayer of heretics in HBO’s Game of Thrones, Waddingham is a versatile actor who will fit nicely into the ensemble cast of Tom Cruise’s latest stunt-tastic showcase.

In addition to Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One also features Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ila Faust, Hayley Atwell as Grace, Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge, Shea Whigham as Jasper Briggs, Frederick Schmidt as Zola Mitsopolis, and Esai Morales as the movie’s main villain. Pom Klementieff, Rob Delaney, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Mark Gatiss, Charles Parnell, Greg Davis, and Marcin Dorociński also appear.

Earlier this week, Bob Bakish, president of Paramount Global, said executives are concerned about the runtime for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.

While audience reactions to the film have been overwhelmingly positive, Paramount feels the movie still needs to be shorter. “I haven’t seen all of ‘MI:7,’ but I’ve seen a bunch of it,” Bakish said. “We actually just did the first test screening for an audience last week, and the audience lost their mind. And it’s still too long, they’ve got to cut it. But the movie is insane. It’s like a complete thrill ride. And Tom, he’s very good.”

Are you excited about Hannah Waddinham joining the cast of Mission: Impossible 7? She can only make this franchise even better, and I can’t wait to see her alongside Tom Cruise and the rest of the cast in a future chapter of the Mission: Impossible saga.
