Apparently there’s a big hulking badass out there named Bob Sapp who is well-known by those who follow Mixed Martial Arts. Obviously, I don’t, because if you told me about a dude named Bob Sapp I’d think he was a cartoon drunkard or a porn star. But no, Bob Sapp is a 6′ 4″ tall, 340 lb. giant of a man who kickboxes and wrestles with the best of them.

He’s also an “actor”, and has appeared in flicks like ELEKTRA, THE LONGEST YARD and something awesome called FRANKENHOOD. Now he’s just been cast in his biggest film yet, CONAN, which is obviously moving forward with the quickness. Latino Review got the scoop about Sapp’s involvement in the Marcus Nispel film, as well as which character he’ll be portraying.

Here’s the character description for “Ukafa”:

Ukafa is in his 30s-40, very dark-skinned African or African American, massively framed at six-foot-five, gold-toothed, hardened by a lifetime of war, a leader of Kushite Tribemen from the savannahs of Kush. Ukafa is Khalar Singh’s second in command, jealous that Singh’s son, Fariq, will one day be warlord. He obeys his leader but plots the overthrow of his son. He is a mighty warrior and unbeatable in battle—until he comes face to face with Conan.

Sapp (or as my spellcheck calls him, “Sappy”) will join Jason Momoa in Bulgaria next month to commence shooting CONAN. No release date has yet been announced.
