Monsters Inc. 2 will actually be called Monsters University

JoBloJoBlo

We’ve already heard that Disney and Pixar will be taking us back to Monstropolis with a follow-up to the wonderful MONSTERS, INC. and have announced the title:

MONSTERS UNIVERSITY.

The movie will reportedly be a prequel, so we won’t be seeing an older Boo or the newly giggle-powered city. As one can deduce from the title, the story will revolve around our heroes Sully and Mike Wazowski, along with devious chameleon Randall Boggs, as they learn the particulars of wringing screeches from innocent young humans.

Original voice actors John Goodman, Billy Crystal and Steve Buscemi are all expected to return (seriously, who wouldn’t want to do another Pixar movie?). We should be hearing soon which Pixar veteran(s) will be getting a crack at directing this one.

Disney had previously announced a planned release of November 16th, 2012.
