This past weekend we showed you some neat PREDATORS stuff, as it’s obviously Predator-mania ’round these parts at the moment. Wired.com got their hands on some more concept art from the flick, showcasing some of the new types of creatures we’ll be encountering in the Nimrod Antal-directed film. If you want a nice description of the trailer seen at SXSW (which includes more than what we’ve seen on the ‘net), read our own Mike Sampson’s report from the festival right HERE.
As you can see, the Predator planet will contain more than the trophy hunters themselves; we’ll get a taste of the whole planet’s ecosystem. We’ll even be exposed to new kinds of Predators, including a “super Predator”; can’t wait to get a look at that mofo.
Head on over to Wired.com for a few more pieces of concept art, as well as a detailed report about the flick, coming to North American theaters on JULY 9th, it hits UK cinemas on AUGUST 11th.
PREDATORS, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the creative auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien predators.
